Abby Anderton

Abby Anderton is an Assistant Professor of Music in the Fine and Performing Arts Department. Her research explores the cultural denazification and re-education programs of the American Military Government in postwar Berlin, focusing on the experience of musicians under tyranny and occupation.  Her current project explores the musical culture of Displaced Persons Camps in postwar Germany, including performative rejections of victimization by Holocaust survivors who concertized while still wearing their concentration camp uniforms.
