Dori Griffin

Dori Griffin is an Assistant Professor of graphic design and design history in the School of Art + Design, Ohio University. Her research explores the visual rhetoric of popular print media during the twentieth century, interrogating the social, political, and professional contexts in which graphic designers and commercial illustrators practiced. Her current book project, Typographic Specimens, is under contract with Bloomsbury. In it, she investigates the visual forms, professional practices, technological developments, and cultural contexts associated with type specimens throughout the history of printing.
