Javier Berzal de Dios

Javier Berzal de Dios is an Assistant Professor at Western Washington University. He obtained a PhD. from The Ohio State University in art history and a MA in philosophy from the City University of New York. His current manuscript is called Visual Experiences in Cinquecento Theatrical Spaces, a section of which was published in article format by theSixteenth Century Journal as “Conjuring the Concept of Rome: Alterity and Synecdoche in Peruzzi’s Design for La Calandria.” Another two of his articles, one on Diego Velázquez and another on Gilles Deleuze, are slated for publication in 2016. In addition to being a sporadic essay writer and sound designer, he is a contributor to online resources like SmartHistory andThe Art Founders Project.
