AHPP Releases Call for Papers
AHTR is excited to announce the Call for Papers for the inaugural issue of Art History Pedagogy and Practice to be published in Fall 2016. The e-journal’s first issue will serve to advocate and advance the scholarship of teaching and learning through contributions that re-examine the introductory survey course in art history. With this theme, we hope to expand scholarly discourse beyond the perennial discussions that take place at academic conferences, and to encourage critical investigation of how questions related to the art history survey raise essential issues within the discipline.
This thematic focus for AHPP’s inaugural release intentionally looks back two decades to the publication of Art Journal (54.3) in Autumn 1995, the last time an art history periodical devoted a full issue to pedagogical concerns. By presenting new research addressing the introductory survey, we underscore AHPP’s function as an open forum where vigorous and on-going conversations about teaching and learning in the field will take place.
Submissions in response to the current CFP will be accepted at www.arthistorypp.org The deadline for submission in July 15, 2016. Contact AHPP’s editorial team at info@arthistorypp.org with any additional questions.
